Product Description

PE / EVA Blend Closed Cell Foam Block

TOPSUN PE / EVA blend closed cell foam block is a lightweight, soft and resilient foam material designed for tool box inserts, protective packaging, marine flooring, sports pads, orthopedic EVA blocks, floor underlayment, cold-chain packaging, sealing strips and custom foam parts. By combining polyethylene foam and EVA foam characteristics, the material offers good cushioning, shock absorption, moisture resistance, thermal insulation and easy fabrication.

The standard low-density PE / EVA blend foam block is commonly supplied around 25–30 kg/m³ for lightweight cushioning and cost-effective protection. Higher-density PE foam grades are also available when stronger support, cleaner CNC cutting, higher compression resistance or improved shape retention is required.

Material: PE / EVA blend closed cell foam block.

Typical density: 25–30 kg/m³ for low-density cushioning; other PE foam grades from PE25 to PE140 are available.

Standard block size: 1000 × 2000 mm, 1200 × 2400 mm and 1500 × 2500 mm.

Processing: cutting, slicing, CNC routing, die cutting, lamination, adhesive backing, engraving, compression molding and screen printing.

Main applications: tool box inserts, custom case inserts, packaging protection, surface protection, marine flooring, sports and leisure products, orthopedic blocks, foam tape and insulation.

Key Features of PE / EVA Blend Foam

  • Lightweight and soft: low-density foam helps reduce product weight while maintaining cushioning performance.

  • Good elasticity and resilience: helps the foam recover after compression and repeated handling.

  • Shock absorption: absorbs impact energy and protects products during shipping, storage and daily use.

  • Closed-cell moisture resistance: low water absorption helps resist moisture, mildew and product contamination.

  • Thermal and sound insulation: the closed-cell structure helps reduce heat transfer and vibration transmission in suitable applications.

  • Chemical stability: resistant to many acids, alkalis, solvents, grease and general industrial chemicals.

  • Non-abrasive and non-dusting: suitable for surface protection and clean packaging applications.

  • Easy to fabricate: can be cut, die-cut, routed, laminated, engraved, printed or supplied with adhesive backing.

What Is PE / EVA Blend Foam?

PE EVA blend closed cell foam sheet structure

PE / EVA blend foam is a closed-cell foam material produced by combining polyethylene and ethylene-vinyl acetate foam characteristics. PE contributes low weight, moisture resistance, chemical resistance and cost-effective protection. EVA contributes a softer feel, better flexibility and improved cushioning comfort. The result is a versatile foam block for cutting, laminating, case inserts, footwear-related blocks, marine flooring and protective padding.

The material has a fine and uniform closed-cell structure. It is soft to the touch, elastic, low in water absorption and easy to convert into custom shapes by cutting, die cutting, CNC routing, lamination, adhesive backing and compression molding.

TOPSUN PE Foam Process Flow

TOPSUN PE EVA blend foam process flow

The production and converting process can include foam formulation, block preparation, cutting, slicing, lamination, CNC routing, die cutting, adhesive backing, inspection and packing. For custom case inserts and packaging parts, TOPSUN can review drawings, samples and product dimensions before recommending density, thickness and processing method.

Benefits of Closed Cell PE / EVA Blend Foam

Lightweight Cushioning

Low-density PE / EVA blend foam is suitable for lightweight cushioning applications where the product needs protection without adding excessive weight.

Closed-Cell Moisture Resistance

The closed-cell structure does not absorb water easily and helps resist moisture, mildew, mold, rot and bacteria. This makes it useful for marine, outdoor, cold-chain and industrial packaging applications.

Shock Absorption and Vibration Dampening

PE / EVA blend foam provides impact protection, shock absorption and vibration dampening for tools, instruments, electronic devices, sports equipment and protective cases.

Thermal and Sound Insulation

The foam structure helps reduce heat transfer and sound transmission in suitable applications such as floor underlayment, construction filling, equipment padding and transportation components.

Easy Custom Fabrication

The foam can be cut, sliced, die-cut, routed, engraved, laminated and adhesive-backed. It is suitable for custom inserts, foam trays, case liners, foam blocks, gaskets, seals and padding parts.

Applications of PE / EVA Blend Closed Cell Foam

PE / EVA blend foam can replace or supplement felt, neoprene, natural rubber, polyurethane foam, PVC foam, wood composites, mineral wool and glass fiber in selected applications where lightweight cushioning, moisture resistance, flexibility and easy conversion are required.

Tool Box Inserts and Custom Case Inserts

PE / EVA blend foam is widely used for tool-control inserts, flight case inserts, aluminum case packaging, instrument cases and protective trays. CNC routing can create precise cavities according to tool shape, product sample or CAD drawing.

Protective Packaging and Surface Protection

The non-abrasive surface and cushioning performance help protect electronics, instruments, fragile products, hardware, appliances and finished surfaces during transport and handling.

Marine Flooring and Sports Products

Because the material is lightweight, buoyant and moisture resistant, it can be used for marine flooring materials, sports pads, leisure mats, protective padding and recreational products.

Orthopedic EVA Blocks and Medical Padding

PE / EVA blend foam blocks can be converted for orthopedic supports, cushioning pads, positioning components and medical packaging where softness, resilience and low weight are needed. Required compliance should be confirmed before medical use.

Construction, Floor Underlayment and Cold Chain

The material can be used for construction filling, expansion joints, underlayment, blocking and bracing, cold-chain packaging and thermal insulation components. Thickness and density should be selected according to load, temperature and compression requirements.
