PE foam, or polyethylene foam, is a lightweight crosslinked closed-cell foam material made from polyethylene. It provides excellent cushioning, insulation and protective properties for packaging, construction, automotive, electronics, medical, sports and marine applications.
The material has a uniform and fine structure, soft touch, good elasticity, low water absorption and stable chemical resistance. It also provides shock absorption, impact resistance, sound insulation and heat insulation performance.
PE foam is resistant to acids, alkalis and corrosion. It is non-toxic, odorless and easy to process by cutting, die cutting, laminating, adhesive backing and other custom converting methods.
Topsun can process PE foam blocks, sheets and rolls into protective foam inserts, tool box inserts, packaging liners, foam tapes, adhesive-backed foam, die-cut pads, cushioning parts and custom foam components.
Processing options include cutting, slicing, laminating, adhesive backing, die cutting, punching, engraving, molding and custom packaging. Customers can provide drawings, product dimensions, foam density, thickness and application requirements for customized production.
Wide density range: PE foam is available in low to high densities, helping manufacturers match firmness, cushioning and load-bearing performance to different applications.
Excellent resilience: PE foam provides strong impact resistance and can return to its original shape after compression. It also offers good tear resistance and a high strength-to-weight ratio.
Thermal insulation: The closed-cell structure helps reduce heat transfer, making PE foam suitable for insulation boards, pipe insulation, cold chain packaging and floor underlayment.
Chemical resistance: PE foam resists many chemicals, oils and solvents, supporting long-term performance in industrial and commercial environments.
Moisture resistance: PE foam does not degrade easily when exposed to water. It also resists mold, mildew and moisture-related damage, making it suitable for humid or outdoor conditions.
Buoyancy: The lightweight closed-cell structure provides excellent buoyancy, making PE foam useful for marine, flotation and recreational products.
Surface protection: PE foam is non-abrasive and helps prevent scratches, dents and surface damage during handling, storage and transportation.
Lightweight and versatile: PE foam can be fabricated into custom shapes and sizes for packaging, construction, automotive, recreational and industrial applications.
Packaging: PE foam is widely used in protective packaging for electronics, appliances, medical equipment and fragile products. Its cushioning properties help absorb impact and prevent damage during shipping and handling.
Construction: PE foam is used in insulation boards, expansion joint fillers, pipe insulation and sealing applications because of its thermal insulation and moisture-resistant properties.
Automotive: PE foam is used in interior padding, gaskets, seals, vibration-control components and sound-dampening materials to improve comfort, durability and noise reduction.
Medical: PE foam is suitable for orthopedic supports, prosthetic devices, therapeutic padding and medical packaging, offering lightweight comfort and cushioning.
Sports and recreation: PE foam is used for pool noodles, flotation devices, exercise mats, protective sports equipment and recreational padding because of its resilience and buoyancy.
Electronics: Custom PE foam inserts provide shock absorption and secure protection for sensitive electronic devices, components and instruments during storage and transportation.
Marine applications: PE foam is commonly used in flotation components, buoyancy aids and other marine products because of its closed-cell structure and buoyancy.
