IXPE foam is a soft and semi-rigid closed-cell foam made from polyethylene through irradiation cross-linking and foaming. The cross-linked structure improves foam consistency, resilience, tensile strength, tear resistance, cushioning performance and thermal stability.
Because IXPE foam is lightweight, low-odor, moisture-resistant and easy to convert, it is widely used as a functional material for automotive interiors, precision packaging, HVAC insulation, sports pads, medical cushioning, electronic protection, construction joints and custom industrial foam parts.
The following IXPE foam specification table helps engineers, purchasing managers and product developers compare expansion ratios, density, hardness, tensile strength, elongation, tear strength, compression set, dimensional change, water absorption and thermal conductivity.
T refers to the transverse direction, and L refers to the longitudinal direction. Custom performance can be discussed according to the final application, thickness, lamination structure and processing method.

IXPE polyethylene foam is irradiation cross-linked polyethylene foam with a closed-cell structure. It is lightweight, resilient, moisture-resistant and suitable for cushioning, insulation, sound absorption, packaging and custom converted foam parts.
IXPE foam is cross-linked by irradiation, which gives the foam better cell uniformity, dimensional stability, tensile strength, tear resistance and heat resistance than many ordinary non-cross-linked PE foams.
TOPSUN can supply IXPE foam with a density range from 25 kg/m³ to 300 kg/m³. Higher-density foam is usually selected for stronger support and durability, while lower-density foam is often used for lightweight cushioning and insulation.
Yes. IXPE foam can be supplied as foam sheets or foam rolls. It can also be slit, cut, laminated, die cut, punched, engraved, molded or processed with adhesive backing according to project requirements.
