Product Description
TOPSUN IXPP foam sheet is an irradiation cross-linked polypropylene foam designed for automotive interiors, battery thermal insulation, electronic cushioning, construction insulation, protective packaging and high-temperature industrial applications. Compared with many common polyolefin foams, IXPP foam offers better heat resistance, lower odor, good dimensional stability, strong mechanical performance and reliable closed-cell insulation.
The material is produced from polypropylene through extrusion, irradiation cross-linking and foaming. Its fine closed-cell structure provides cushioning, shock absorption, thermal insulation, moisture resistance and chemical resistance while keeping the final component lightweight and easy to process.

High-temperature resistance: IXPP foam can support applications requiring service temperatures around 120°C and selected short-term processing conditions above this range, depending on grade and assembly design.
Excellent resilience: good cushioning, rebound and impact absorption for automotive, packaging and protective applications.
High closed-cell rate: closed-cell structure above 98% helps reduce water absorption and water vapor permeability.
Thermal insulation: low thermal conductivity below 0.036 W/m·K helps reduce heat transfer in insulation and battery applications.
Chemical resistance: polypropylene-based foam provides better resistance to many chemicals than several general-purpose foam materials.
Low odor and low VOC: suitable for automotive interior and passenger-space applications where odor and emissions matter.
Good processability: can be laminated, die-cut, thermoformed, vacuum-formed, punched and converted into custom parts.

IXPP foam is suitable for automotive roof liners, steering wheels, luggage-compartment linings, air-conditioner damping panels, side guards, inner-door energy-absorbing pads, buffer pads and headrests. Its heat resistance, light weight, sound insulation and dimensional stability support automotive interior applications.
IXPP foam can be used as a thermal insulation material for 90–120°C heat-carrier cycle batteries and as an insulation layer in high-temperature environments. It can also be considered for spacing, buffering and vibration-control structures in suitable battery assemblies.
Because of its thermal stability and low shrinkage at elevated temperatures, IXPP foam is suitable for selected engine-room insulation, instrument insulation and heat-management components where higher temperature resistance than common PE foam is required.
IXPP foam provides cushioning, resilience and impact absorption for electronic components, precision instruments and fragile goods. It can be die-cut or laminated into protective layers, inserts, dividers and shock-absorbing pads.
IXPP foam may be used in flooring, roofing, wall systems, acoustic layers and thermal insulation components. Its moisture resistance, chemical resistance and stable closed-cell structure help support long-term durability in suitable assemblies.
The material can be used in sports equipment, household products, protective cases and lightweight cushioning components where flexibility, safety, thermal insulation and durability are required.
Automotive and battery applications often require materials with low odor, low VOC emissions, thermal stability, low shrinkage, good mechanical strength and reliable cushioning. IXPP foam is a practical choice because polypropylene foam maintains dimensional stability at higher temperatures than many common PE foam grades while providing a lightweight closed-cell structure.
For battery and thermal-management components, the final design should consider compression, heat exposure, flame-retardant requirement, dielectric requirement, adhesive compatibility and assembly tolerance. IXPP foam sheets and laminated blocks can be cut to length, cut to width and sliced to the required thickness according to the project specification.
Single-layer IXPP foam is available from 1–6 mm, while multilayer laminated structures can be produced up to 100 mm. Lamination can combine thickness, cushioning, insulation and functional surface requirements.
Custom dies can produce repeatable IXPP pads, seals, strips, cushioning layers, spacers, protective liners and insulation components for medium and high-volume production.
IXPP foam has good thermal weldability and thermal processing performance. It can be thermoformed or vacuum-formed into shaped automotive, packaging, protection and insulation parts when the correct grade and forming condition are selected.
Pressure-sensitive adhesive, films, fabrics or other compatible facings can be laminated to IXPP foam for installation-ready pads, liners, acoustic materials and insulation components.
